About

My path to Microsoft 365

In 2010, while managing the main office for a software comany, I was asked to take over a thing called SharePoint. My instant reaction, not knowing anything about it, was “heck no”. It took my manager a few weeks to convince me to take a look. When I finally did, I immediately saw the potential at improving collaboration and just generally making our team member’s lives much easier. While it was frightening at first, I took the opportunity and ended up initiating my career change into IT.

My path to Adoption & Change Management

While I became more excited about all the possibilities with SharePoint I noticed, that not everyone around me necessarily shared the same emotions. They did not want to learn a new software, they just wanted to get their work done, and the easier the software they were supposed to use the better.

I realized that I could certainly work myself into the technical depths of SharePoint, but that was not really what I wanted to do. What was much more important to me than building SharePoint solutions, was building collaboration solutions people were excited to adopt. That’s when my focus shifted to Adoption & Change Management.

Since that day in 2010, my journey took me from Site Collection Admin to SharePoint Business Analyst to Sr. Collaboration Consultant to my current role as Sr. Customer Success Manager with IF-Blueprint. I focus on delivering Adoption & Change Management services by engaging the business during technology projects, such as the roll-out of Microsoft Teams, and guiding business users towards adopting digital collaboration tools.

That includes conducting workshops, assessments, requirement gathering, stake holder analysis as well as the design, planning, and management of user adoption measures.  In addition, I support the implementation of changes by applying the Prosci© Change Management methodology, which includes preparing, planning, and managing change management measures in our clients’ organizations.

My love for community

My change into the IT world would have been much harder without the help and support of fellow Microsoft community members, which inspired me to give back. Check the Speaker page for upcoming events, where I share my knowledge and expertise. I also co-organize Collab Days Munich (former O365 & SP Saturday) and the Adoption & Change Forum Munich, as well as administer the Facebook group Microsoft Teams für Schulen.
